🎬 DiscoverThe investigation takes a serious turn. Father clears a wall in the kitchen and starts pinning up notes — a suspect board. Everyone who had access to the marani goes up on the wall.

Father (pinning names to the wall):

კარგი. ვინ გააღო მარანი? ვინ შევიდა? ეს უნდა გავარკვიოთ.

k'argi. vin gaagho marani? vin shevida? es unda gavark'viot.

"Right. Who opened the marani? Who went in? We need to figure this out."

Father (writing names on cards):

მე, შენ, ბაბუა, ნინო, მეზობელი... ყველა ეჭვმიტანილია.

me, shen, babua, nino, mezobeli... q'vela echvmit'anilia.

"Me, you, grandfather, Nino, the neighbor... everyone's a suspect."

Mother (reading from father's notes):

მოიცა... ბაბუამ თარო ააშენა. ნინომ მარანი დახატა. მამამ სია დაწერა.

moitsa... babuam taro aashena. ninom marani dakhat'a. mamam sia dats'era.

"Wait... grandfather built the shelf. Nino drew the marani. Father wrote the list."

Nino (confused, staring at the board):

დედა! რატომ ამბობ "ბაბუამ" და არა "ბაბუა"? და "ნინომ"? ჩემი სახელი ნინო-ა, არა ნინომ!

deda! rat'om ambob "babuam" da ara "babua"? da "ninom"? chemi sakheli nino-a, ara ninom!

"Mom! Why do you say "ბაბუამ" and not "ბაბუა"? And "ნინომ"? My name is Nino, not Ninom!"

Mother (smiling):

იმიტომ რომ ბაბუამ ააშენა — ბაბუა გააკეთა, ბაბუამ! ვინ გააკეთა — ის იღებს -მ-ს ან -მა-ს.

imitom rom babuam aashena — babua gaak'eta, babuam! vin gaak'eta — is ighebts -m-s an -ma-s.

"Because grandfather BUILT it — grandfather DID it, ბაბუამ! Whoever DID something gets -მ or -მა."

Nino (eyes wide):

მაშინ... მეზობელი → მეზობელმა?

mashin... mezobeli → mezobelma?

"Then... neighbor → მეზობელმა?"

Father (impressed):

სწორია! მეზობელმა. კაცმა. ქალმა. ვინც გააკეთა — იცვლება!

sts'oria! mezobelma. k'atsma. kalma. vints gaak'eta — itsvleba!

"Correct! მეზობელმა. კაცმა. ქალმა. Whoever DID it — changes!"

💡In the aorist, the DOER of a transitive action gets a special ending: -მა (on nouns like კაცი → კაცმა) or -მ (on names like ნინო → ნინომ). This is the ERGATIVE case — Georgian's way of spotlighting who completed the action. The verb itself doesn't change at all.
