ჯერ მცხეთაში შევდივართ, მერე ყაზბეგისკენ ავდივართ.

jer mtskheta-shi shevdivart, mere q'azbegisk'en avdivart.

"First we go INTO Mtskheta, then we go UP toward Kazbegi."

Mother:

და ქუთაისში როგორ გავდივართ? გადავდივართ მთას?

da kutaisshi rogor gavdivart? gadavdivart mtas?

"And how do we get OUT to Kutaisi? Do we go OVER the mountain?"

Nino:

მამა, სად მივდივართ? სად მოვდივართ?

mama, sad mivdivart? sad movdivart?

"Dad, where are we going? Where are we coming?"

Grandfather (laughing):

ნინო, ყოველ სიტყვას — "სად" — ერთი პატარა ნაწილი ამბობს! შე-, გა-, ა-, მო-...

nino, q'ovel sit'q'vas — "sad" — erti p'at'ara nats'ili ambobs! she-, ga-, a-, mo-...

"Nino, every word — "where" — one tiny piece tells you! შე-, გა-, ა-, მო-..."

💡Listen to the father's directions: შევდივართ (go IN), ავდივართ (go UP), გავდივართ (go OUT), გადავდივართ (go OVER). The same verb — მიდის — but with different tiny prefixes. Each prefix tells you WHERE. These are preverbs — and they fill the one slot in the verb template we haven't used yet.
