sakhels vats'er botlze — "kakhuri, 2026."

"I'm writing the name ON the bottle — "Kakhetian, 2026.""

Mother:

ეტიკეტს ვახატავ ქვევრზე — ყურძნის ფოთლით.

et'ik'et's vakhat'av q'vevrze — q'urdznis potlit.

"I'm painting a label ON the qvevri — with grape leaves."

Giorgi (noticing):

ვაწერ, ვახატავ... ვა-, ვა-... ერთი წუთი!

vats'er, vakhat'av... va-, va-... erti ts'uti!

"ვაწერ, ვახატავ... ვა-, ვა-... Wait a second!"

Giorgi (excited):

ვაშენებ-ში ეგ "ა" — იგივე არ არის?! აშენებს!

vasheneb-shi eg "a" — igive ar aris?! ashenebs!

"The "ა" in ვაშენებ — isn't that the SAME thing?! აშენებს!"

💡Giorgi just cracked something. The ა- in ვაწერ (I write ON) and the ა- in აშენებს (he builds) sit in exactly the same slot. Building is putting something ONTO a site — it's been the a-version all along.
